The Every Day Battle With My Kids

Getting my kids to eat healthy has always been a challenge. If I gave them the option, they'd choose junk every time. Fruits and vegetables were already a daily negotiation, but grab-and-go snacks were even harder. I wanted something I could throw in a lunchbox that had good ingredients, enough protein to actually be useful, and most importantly, something my kids would willingly eat.

Each trip to the grocery store, I was disappointed with the labels I read. Even a lot of the "healthy" options had seed oils, corn syrup, artificial colors, or an ingredient list so long it barely fit on the wrapper.

And when I did find bars with ingredients I liked, they rarely had much protein. The higher-protein options weren't much better because my kids usually hated the taste.

According to research, about 1 in 7 children don't get enough protein. Protein plays an important role in a child's growth and development, so finding an easy way to get more of it into the snacks my kids already eat felt like a pretty meaningful win.

That's when I found out one of my favorite protein brands was launching a bar specifically for kids.

Why Mom & Kids Agree Equip Kids Is the Best

Equip has always been one of my go-to brands for my own protein needs, so I was curious when they launched a version specifically for kids.

Each bar has 10 grams of grass-fed beef protein along with ingredients I actually recognize like almonds, dates, honey, cocoa, and vanilla. There's no corn syrup, artificial dyes, seed oils, or the endless ingredient list I'm used to seeing on kids snacks.

On paper, that all sounded great. But none of it mattered if my kids wouldn't eat them.

That was my biggest question when I opened the box. Most of the healthier bars I've brought home have gotten one bite before being abandoned.

That concern disappeared pretty quickly. They devoured both the Chocolate Brownie and Cookie Dough bars, and now they're asking to try Birthday Cake.

I still don't know how they taste because my kids refuse to share. Honestly, that might be the strongest review I can give them.

Mom Tested, Picky-Eater Approved

Equip Kids Bars have become one of the healthiest and easiest snacks in our rotation. They're filling, have 10 grams of protein, and use ingredients I feel good about giving my kids.

More importantly, my kids actually want to eat them.

No more fighting them to eat a healthier snack. Now they ask for one themselves.
